MATHEMATICS SUBJECT ESSAY
Throughout
the high school years every individual has their own opinion to what they like
and dislike in school. These opinions often change throughout the time because
of a teacher, strengths and weaknesses. Mathematics is an essential part of
every high school student’s education. Every student learns fundamentals in
math that will carry with them through life. As a math student, I feel math has
taught me not only about numbers, but also it has taught me thinking skills and
problem solving that will take me further than just math class. There are times
in which you have to decide which path you will take after high school.
From
the beginning of math in grade 1 to, for some the last math class in high
school, each person goes through the stages of struggles and success. For a
student like me, math was always a struggle. I used to say, “I hate math”, this
statement made me think about how every concept requires special attention and
focus. In high school each student discovers what practice really means,
studying hard, completing all homework assignment and paying attention in
class. For high school students these are hard, while you are surrounded by
some of your best friends. Concentration is a skill that I will come out of
high school math with. The dedication that this class requires teaches every
student concentration. The concentration on this one course will help high
school students pursue their dreams while taking other courses to achieve this.
Each problem that math students need to solve involves steps. The concept of
problem solving taught in high school will initiate smarter ways in which you
can solve your problem.
Another
major influence on a high school student’s math education is the teacher. A
teacher is crucial to a student’s success. The ideal teacher knows several ways
to explain a certain concept. In high school I never had a teacher that I could
understand their teaching method. Becoming involved in the lesson teaches
students to be more comfortable to be verbal during class. By doing this, it
gives math students communication skills in front of others. Also it helps the
students learn the idea of what is being taught by putting what you know
towards the new problem. So the gist is the good teacher plays an important
role why I am into math even until now.

Ever since I was a child, I have loved National Geographic. I went from being fascinated by the pictures when I was small, to reading the magazine, and now surf for its site on the Internet. I enjoy each and every single pieces in the website. This site has beautiful illustrations while being knowledgeable as well. This site has great gifts for every age. You can amaze children and adults alike. I have always felt that educational and scientific gifts have a lot more meaning than some of the other traditional gifts. Many people get joy out of them time and time again, while maybe gaining knowledge that will last a lifetime.

ENGLISH CLASS LESSONS
Some people might think it is boring and tiring to learn English over and over again since primary school. But not for me, I feel English is a pleasurable subject that I have taken this semester. The objective of the course was to make us better writers, and I certainly have improved. I learned what makes a paper good or bad, what makes it easier to write a good paper, and how the manner that the class is held makes a difference. Now I have to take my writing more seriously, and try much harder at producing good output. I know English is very important in today’s world, without it, I might lose a job in the future, doesn’t have adequate self-confidence, and difficult to communicate with others who spoke in another languages. With English proficiency, I can communicate without barriers. Because of these reasons, I am taking this matter seriously especially in my writing to become better in composing outstanding essays. Writing for a grade often causes the writer to do just enough to get by. I also learned that it is much easier to produce a good piece of writing if I am kept interested. By choosing our own topics, rather than have the teacher give us topics to write on, we often are much more interested in the subject. If we are interested in what we are writing about, we tend to have a better opinion, and we can explain our ideas better. All of this helps us produce better papers. Also, if the writer is interested in the subject, this interest often translates into the writer making a more interesting paper, which keeps the reader more interested and gives people a better opinion of how good of a writer that person really is. Finally, I learned that the teacher makes a world of difference. My English lecturer was cheerful and seemed enthusiastic about their work. He made the class interesting and kept my attention, which is often hard to do. He seemed able to relate to us in a friendly way, rather than as teacher to a student. He made the class fun, while still keeping it a class, not a game. When the class is more fun it causes the students to become better motivated to do well. This is what most influenced me during the semester. If it were just another boring old English class I wouldn't have accomplished anything. These are the things that I learned throughout the semester. They are the things I feel were most important. Writing to become better at writing, being able to choose my own topic that interests me, and the luck of having a good lecturer helped most in my improvement. I only hope to improve more next semester. At least I have a better idea of what to expect.
HOBBY THAT PASSIONATE ME
Life without a hobby is like food without the salt. It is a hobby which makes living interesting. It is a pursuit outside one’s regular work. A hobby gives one joy and pleasure; one does not get tired of it. It is a pastime, relaxation and leisure. In this way, while one is learning something, he is also making best use of his time. Practically every person has his or her own hobby. Personally, I never thought I ever had a hobby. There are many hobbies like drawing, painting, gardening, stamp collecting, photography, reading, coin collecting and many more. As a matter of fact I wasn't even sure what my hobby actually was. Then I got to thinking and I finally realized that my hobby was reading. Yes, I know that to some people reading is not considered a true hobby; but the way I see it, if I enjoy reading and spend my precious time doing it, then I have every right to consider it as my special hobby. Some people will ask why it must be reading? Isn’t reading the boring and dull activity? No, it’s not, at least as for me. I read story books, magazines, newspapers and any kind of material that I find interesting. This hobby got started when I was a little boy. I had always wanted my parents to read fairy tales and other stories to me. Soon they got fed up and tired of having to read to me continually. So as soon as I could, I learned to read. I started with simple ABC books. Soon I could read simple fairy tales and other stories. Now I read just about anything that is available. Reading enables me to learn about so many things that I would otherwise not know. I learned about how people lived in bygone days of magic and mystery. I learned about the wonders of the world, space travel, human achievements, gigantic whales, tiny viruses and other fascinating things of our world. The wonderful thing about reading is that I do not have to learn things the hard way. For example, I do not have to catch a disease to know that it can kill me. I know the danger so I can avoid it. Also I do not have to go deep into the jungle to learn about the tiger. I can read all about it in a book. Books provide the reader with so much information and facts. They have certainly helped me in my daily life. I am better equipped to cope with living. Otherwise I would go about ignorantly learning things the hard way. So I continue to read. Besides being more informed about the world, I also spend my time profitably. It is indeed a good hobby.
